We Are Different
Our People—GSM is led by a small group of like-minded utility leaders. Almost all of our team are engineers with 25+ years of experience in utilities before joining GSM. They previously worked for large corporations and have similar commitment to producing high quality work products.
Michele Wynne has been in the electric power industry for 35 years. Initially an environmental planning engineer at Southern California Edison, she has worked on a variety of projects including transmission and generation siting, power purchasing, industry restructuring, demand response, bio-fuel plants and renewable energy. Michele was an active participant in the development of DSM programs in California and has spoken on demand participation in electricity markets at domestic and international forums. Michele’s work with Tesla, Inc. focuses on providing clients with short and medium term load forecasting services that reduce price and delivery risks and integrate DSM, smart meter, and ISO constraints into the forecasting process. Most recently, Ms. Wynne has provided value-added technical consulting services to the energy industry through her company, Grid Services.
Ms. Wynne holds a BS in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2011, she will receive a MS Financial Management from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.
Gwen Mizell has been a business leader in the Electric Power industry for more than 25 years. She most recently was Vice-President of Power Generation Services for KEMA Inc., a leading technical consulting firm serving the worldwide energy marketplace. Ms. Mizell was previously a Business Development leader at ABB in Santa Clara, California, responsible for the sale of software to participants in the deregulated energy market. Ms. Mizell spent the bulk of her early career at Westinghouse Electric (later Siemens Westinghouse) where she performed marketing and sales functions; strategic planning; emissions testing program management and business development functions for power plant equipment.
Ms. Mizell holds a BS degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a MS degree in Management and Public Policy Analysis from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. As a Sloan fellow, Ms Mizell completed the APPAM Summer Institute at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Join Our Internship Program
GSM Development takes a few collegiate level interns each year. These internships are, for the most part, remote.
Our internship program is designed to give students experience prior to entering the workplace, as well as enhancing their education. Our internship program is during the summer and last 10-14 weeks.
